Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island exclusive card reveal – Kenai

Hot off the heels of Azurite Sea, Disney Lorcana is kicking off 2025 with its newest set, Archazia’s Island, coming very soon. Checkpoint Gaming has been given the opportunity to reveal a new card from the upcoming set exclusively: Kenai: Protective Brother.

This Rare card features a Storyborn Hero, Kenai, the protagonist of Disney’s 2003 animated feature film Brother Bear and its 2006 sequel. It’s a cute card that does what it says on the tin; shows Kai as a protective brother, looking after the young bear.

Kenai: Protective Brother has a 4 cost, which means he’ll be easy to bring out relatively early; he has 2 strength and 4 defense, which means he won’t be removed from the battlefield easily. He also has 1 Lore.

The hero has an ability: He Needs Me. It states “At the end of your turn, if this character is exerted, you may ready another chosen character of yours and remove all damage from them”.

This could prove to be incredibly useful; exert Kai to quest with that 1 Lore, and then you can ready another exerted character while removing all damage from them. That means, if you pair Kai with a strong card that has already taken some hits, it could bring them back to full health and save them from being challenged in the next round. It’s cards like this that really show how Disney Lorcana is evolving and growing on the competitive front.

Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island will hit pre-release on March 7, with the full launch on March 21.
