Keen Games’ co-op survival action RPG, Enshrouded, is celebrating its first anniversary with exciting news for the future of the game!
The new content update ‘Pact of the Flame’ is the first content update of the year, which brings exciting changes to the game. Players can enjoy the addition of proximity and global voice chat, an emote wheel, a first-person camera mode for building, new cosmetics and several more additions that you can check out in full through the Steam news post. The team have also dropped a video where they show off the new in-game updates and how they work.
The update itself is available to play right now! It’s nice that they’ve focused this update around the introduction of new social features, making it a great time to get friends involved.
The roadmap for 2025 features a few different types of updates, like gameplay features, content, vanity, quality of life, building improvements and social features. There are plans for new biomes, new farm animals and pets, more character customisation and even community world sharing. As someone who loves survival games that emphasise building and decorating, I’m personally really excited about the new customisation options they’re planning.
In 2024, the roadmap set out 36 updates to the game, and have so far met 25 of them with 7 more ongoing. That’s honestly a great percentage, and I do not doubt that the team will do everything they can to hit as many of the goals they’ve set for 2025 as possible.
In addition to the new content update, Enshrouded is also on sale on Steam until 12 February, making this the perfect time to jump in. Though the game is still in early access, the team say they are “thrilled (and a little nervous)” to announce that they anticipate launching Enshrouded 1.0 in mid-2026.
It’s been a blast to see the hard work the team have put into this game and I am really excited to see how the game grows and evolves in the future and into its full release.
