In what was easily the most shocking announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct this morning, The Duskbloods was revealed, a new FromSoftware game that will be released exclusively on the Switch 2 in 2026.
Known, of course, for their ruthless and difficult action RPG,s including Dark Souls and Elden Ring (which is also getting a Tarnished Edition for Switch 2), The Duskbloods is a multiplayer title that is giving BVE (Big Vampire Energy), which should very much get the majority of the Checkpoint Gaming team hot under the collar.
While we don’t have a lot of information about The Duskbloods yet, it looks to feature several unique characters, including a cute robot and some truly horrifying enemies. It looks like the main vampire character featured in the trailer can also suck the blood and/or soul of your enemies, which looks satisfying and gruesome to say the least.
The idea of a FromSoftware game of this scale being released exclusively on the Switch 2 is exciting, and a huge win for Nintendo. FromSoftware is undoubtedly one of the most talented and talked-about developers in the industry, churning out hit-after-hit, with Elden Ring Neightreign coming very soon, too.
We’ll be able to learn more in an upcoming developer diary series, Creator’s Voice, with the game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, which will be available in English on 5th April.
The Duskbloods is set for release exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
