Cure Cancer’s Game on Cancer is back again, this time rallying the gaming community to support cancer research by assembling a team of Superhero Streamers.
From 1 April through to 31 May, streamers and content creators from all across Australia, both big and small, can sign up and help raise funds for cancer researchers in the hunt for a cure. All funds raised this year will support ovarian and bowel cancer research.
Since its launch, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer initiative has raised over $1.25 million AUD in cancer research, becoming one of the leading charity programs in the Australian games industry. Uniting streamers, content creators, and gamers alike in support of curing cancer, Game on Cancer is championed by ambassadors such as SkillUp, Back Pocket, Jeff Cannata, MissMollyMakes, and Stephanie ‘Hex’ Bendixsen.
This year, ASUS ROG is sponsoring a dedicated fundraising team with matched donations. They will also be contributing ASUS ROG products as fundraising incentives for participants after reaching milestone targets ranging from $250 to $4,000 AUD. This includes headsets, mouse pads, mice, keyboards, microphones, and much more.
If you want to offer some in-person support in Melbourne, this weekend (May 17-18), Split The Party is doing a Dungeons & Dragons charity stream at Fortress Melbourne. They’ll be going from 12pm-10pm on Saturday, and 11am-9pm on Sunday, with three games each day. Our very own Hayley from Checkpoint Gaming will be part of a murder mystery on Sunday morning; you can check it out in person in the Alienware Arena and secure tickets here, or if you can’t make it IRL, you can check out the stream here.
To join Superhero Streamers and start fundraising, streamers must sign up to fundraise via Tiltify from 1 April through to 31 May, join a team or fly solo, and go live.
