Aphelion, new sci-fi adventure from Life Is Strange devs announced

DON’T NOD, the developers behind such great games as Life Is Strange and more recently, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, announced their newest game, Aphelion, at the Xbox Games Showcase this morning. In Aphelion, you’ll play as Ariane, who along with her colleague, Thomas, has been sent to discover a planet called Persephone. Set in the year 2060, Earth is now uninhabitable so your job is to find out whether this 9th planet will save humanity.

However, disaster hits and the 2 astronauts are separated, so it is up to Ariane to explore Persephone and find her partner. This cinematic third-person adventure focuses on the player exploring the world of Persephone with only her oxygen tank, pathfinder and grappling hook to make her way through and find Thomas. However, not everything is as it seems, and there may just be alien activity on this planet alongside other spooky secrets. A cool fact about Aphelion is that the devs are collaborating with EESA (The European Space Agency) to deliver a realistic depiction of space exploration.

Aphelion will release sometime in 2026 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
