Dying Light: The Beast finally gets a release date, and it’s soon

Posted on June 9, 2025

Kyle Crane is finally set to make his return to our screens with Dying Light: The Beast, finally receiving an official release date alongside a 30-minute-long gameplay video. Dying Light: The Beast is a standalone story expanding on the universe of the first game in the series. We follow original protagonist Kyle Crane after years of being experimented on, and he’s out for revenge.

Roger Craig Smith will be returning to once again voice Kyle Crane, and he’s very open about how much he loves this character. Players will join Kyle on his story of revenge, hunting down the Baron who had captured him and tortured him for so many years. Set in the once tourist attraction-turned zombie-infested valley of Castor Woods, Kyle will need to carefully traverse the landscape, form fragile alliances, and learn to embrace the beast inside him. Players will be able to switch playstyles between Kyle and his inner beast, as his DNA is now changed. Experience the vast differences between day and night, a staple gameplay element of the Dying Light series.

Dying Light: The Beast is set to launch onto PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X on August 22, 2025, and anyone who owns the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human will receive Dying Light: The Beast for free!
