Opening up the 2025 Summer Game Fest was the bloody and grim sequel to the 2020 Souls-like Mortal Shell, Mortal Shell 2, a gritty adventure that’s coming to Xbox, Steam and PS5 in 2026.
What is featured throughout the trailer is brutal combat, eerie and intriguing monster designs and, well, not much colour and a lot of black and grey. Developer Cold Symmetry have seemed to have upped the ante, partnering up with publisher PlayStack. The game’s fidelity looks stronger than ever, combat looks ambitious and it damn well seems we’re in for a good time.
