Premiered with a trailer at Frosty Games Fest 2025, Parasensor is the debut project from Naarm/Melbourne-based studio GHOULISH. It’s oozing with dread, mystery, and distinct style. Described as a story-rich horror detective game, Parasensor puts players in the role of Marisol Mendez, a telecom technician navigating a city where residents are undergoing terrifying transformations.
With fixed-camera angles and eerie, bug-riddled environments there is a heavy focus on conversation, deduction, and environmental storytelling. Parasensor looks to try and evoke the golden age of horror games while carving out a voice all its own. It’s strange and it’s brimming with creeping tension.
GHOULISH itself is a new creative studio with a lot to say and a lot of talent to back it up. Led by Mickey Krekelberg and made up of artists, writers, animators, musicians, and designers like:
- Asha Waterman – 3D Artist, Rigger & Animator
- Cecile Richard – Narrative Designer, Writer
- Chantel Eagle – Character Designer, 2D & 3D Artist
- Danna Yun – Musician, Songwriter
- Miles Lee – Composer, Sound Designer
- Monica Keeler – UI & UX Designer, Graphic Designer
- Percy Harris – Environment Artist, Illustrator.
The studio’s mission is creative innovation and fresh voices. Also, possibly serving an unnamed, unknowable evil (their words, not ours). Special shout-out to their website. Their vibes are perfect for Parasensor, and their debut game is already getting people interested.
Parasensor is currently in development for PC (Steam), announced alongside many more reveals, gameplay, and demos from Frosty Games Fest 2025.
