Sonic speeds into Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair Superdrop

Sonic the Hedgehog and his buddies are coming to Magic the Gathering next month via Secret Lair’s newly announced Sonic Superdrop. This crossover will feature three limited-edition drops including iconic items, spells, artwork and even seven new-to-Magic cards, legal in Commander, Legacy and Vintage. 

The first drop, Friends and Foes, is where you can find the seven new-to-Magic cards. Six of these are Sonic characters themselves, each becoming Legendary Creatures for your decks. The final new-to-Magic card is a Legendary Enchantment featuring Super Sonic.

The Friends and Foes drop contains:

• Super State
• Knuckles the Echidna
• Amy Rose
• Dr. Eggman
• Miles “Tails” Prower
• Shadow the Hedgehog
• Sonic the Hedgehog

The second drop, Turbo Gear, is an artifact-focused drop that reimagines powerful Magic equipment and constructs as Sonic universe items. 

The Turbo Gear drop contains:

• The Reaver Cleaver as “Knuckles’s Gloves”
• Swiftfoot Boots as “Air Shoes”
• Myr Battlesphere as “Egg Hammer”
• Hammer of Nazahan as “Piko Piko Hammer”
• Lightning Greaves as “Power Sneakers”
• Weatherlight as “Tornado, Sonic’s Biplane”
• Myr token as “Egg Pawn”

The final drop, Chasing Adventure, is all about giving classic Magic spells a Sonic-themed makeover.

The Chasing Adventure drop contains: 

• Open the Armory
• Fabricate
• Deadly Dispute
• Unexpected Windfall
• Sol Ring
• Treasure token

The Sonic Superdrop is set to launch on July 14th via Secret Lair’s official site. They will be available for a limited time only, so those wishing to snag these drops best grab their rings and prepare before they run away as fast as the speed of sound.
