Bethesda is potentially remastering Fallout 3 with other Fallout games in development

Now that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has shadowdropped in April of this year, Bethesda is seemingly looking to remaster another of its beloved games. That’s right, Fallout 3 is getting its day in the sun. Well… maybe, possibly, potentially, or any other adverb. Not only is there potential for a Fallout 3 remaster, but other Fallout games are apparently in development too.

The video game podcast Friends Per Second this week featured Video Game Chronicle journalist, Jordan Middler, on the show. Middler remarked that Bethesda has “multiple Fallout projects in development,” with a wink and a nudge, before adding that this includes “that one that I’m sure you’re all wanting.” This is most likely alluding to Fallout 3, but in my heart of hearts, it’s really a nod to Fallout: New Vegas. But, hey, a guy can dream! Of course, there’s not much else to that, except for the fact that it’s supposedly “not that far along”, ergo, we won’t be getting a shadow drop Fallout 3.

News like this could be surprising to those who don’t listen to the rumour mills, but for others, it might feel like a carrot on a stick. One day, we’ll get Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas remastered. Due to the Oblivion remaster, more and more people will begin theorising when, not if, a Fallout game gets a remaster.

But hey, in the news cycle of layoffs at Microsoft and cancelled game series, it’s nice to have that little bit of hope that one day we’ll get a remaster of this beloved game series.
