Dragon Age: The Veilguard wins big at the 2025 Gayming Awards

Posted on July 10, 2025

The winners of the 2025 Gayming Awards have just been announced, with BioWare’s latest action-RPG, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, taking home the coveted Game of the Year trophy, as well as both Best LGBTQ+ Character for Rook, and Best LGBTQ+ Voice Actor of the Year for Erika Ishii’s portrayal of Rook.

This year marked the fifth annual Gayming Awards, a competition and event celebrating LGBTQ+ themes, characters, and developers in video games that was founded by Robin Gray of Gayming magazine. Each year, the Gayming Awards raise money for the Gayming Foundation, a charity that seeks to “uplift and empower LGBTQ+ games workers and fans to effect change, celebrate inclusivity, and drive forward representation in games.”

In a statement, Gray said: “This year’s winners represent a wonderfully diverse group of people, all of whom are working to make our industry better in their own way. Whether that’s creating games with storylines and characters that represent us, creating communities and holding space for LGBTQ+ people to be themselves, or by changing the industry piece by piece to be more inclusive.”

“Now more than ever, we need to be supporting each other, championing each other, and defending each other. Our partnership with World of Wonder this year has helped us do this in a bigger and better way, and I couldn’t be more grateful and proud.”
