Korean MMORPG Ragnarok V: Returns is gearing up for a global launch this August as the title expands into North America, Latin America, and Oceania.
From the development team over at Gravity, this fairy tale-like world is about to get a whole lot more expansive. Based on the popular Korean manhwa, the Ragnarok video game series has seen immense success globally, with 2002’s Ragnarok Online building a user base of over 100 million registered users alone.
Not looking to slow down any time soon, the studio’s latest project is looking to capture global audiences with a grand launch on August 7th, including a new server to support the influx of brand-new players.
“Immerse yourself in stunning visuals and spectacular skills, and enjoy even more fun-filled gameplay with friends. Join guild events, build new friendships, and strengthen bonds in the world of Ragnarok V: Returns”.
The MMORPG presents a lovingly crafted 3D world with a vibrant anime aesthetic. Players will take on the role of a brave hero on a quest to protect the world from the devastation of Ragnarok and the horde of demonic creatures spewing forth from dimensional gates. It’s a game that looks to combine immersive storytelling with online cooperative and competitive play. Excitingly, it’s also available across platforms, including mobile.
Those entering Ragnarok V: Returns for the first time should expect all the typical bells and whistles of MMORPG design and gameplay. Deep gear systems, parties and guilds, community content, questlines, pet companions, and the ability to jump into an expansive world with friends.
Despite not yet having tried the game myself, it does appear to be absolutely rich in content, which is often the benefit of being available in other regions before heading global. With 60 different mercenaries and 26 types of Pets, adventures will be bustling with life and variety. Add to this game modes like Field PVP, Team Battle, and Capture The Base, and you can really start to see the advantage of that extra development time.
For those enticed by the prospect of a new MMORPG they can delve into, it’s worth knowing that pre-registration will give you access to exclusive rewards, including a Poring Pet, school uniform costume set, Earth Anubis Mercenary, and more. Pre-register via the official website and jump into the action when Ragnarok V: Returns launches globally, including Australia and New Zealand, on August 7. You can also head to the game’s Facebook page or Discord to connect with the game’s community.
