Action RPG MMO Warframe just had its 10th year of TennoCon, a yearly convention held to showcase upcoming content for the game, as well as being a chance for the player community, Tenno’s as they’re known, to come together as a whole and celebrate the beloved game.
Hitting a milestone, the 10th TennoCon was definitely one of the biggest, and the future of Warframe looks bright. Here’s what Tenno’s can expect for the rest of the year, as well as into the next.
One of the biggest announcements was for the next major cinematic update, The Old Peace, which will see Tenno thrust into a period of unification between the Sentients and Orokin, while navigating a blood-soaked conflict against the Dax Anarchs, joined by Adis, your Sentient ally. The announcement came alongside a 23-minute-long gameplay demo, showcasing new story elements as well as a visually stunning environment.
There will also be a new Warframe and two new Protoframes released alongside The Old Peace chapter, as well as a new side story – The Devil’s Triad. A long-awaited Operator Remaster is also part of the new chapter, bringing updated visual fidelity across all Operators.
Though The Old Peace chapter is scheduled for later this year, there will first come an unannounced update featuring a new Warframe, an Oberon rework and a new tutorial quest aimed at teaching new players the fundamentals of the Mod system. There will be a Dev stream on September 25th to announce this update.
With Warframe ever expanding, the announcement of a closed beta for Android mobile devices also came. Tenno can opt in for this closed beta here. There were a few other minor announcements like the Dog Days Summer Event returning in August, new purchasable packs and merch, and TennoVIP Tour announcements.
Even after over ten years, it’s exciting to see a game like Warframe standing so strong and showing that live service games can be extremely successful and maintain an extremely loyal player base. We’re excited to see what the next year of Warframe has to offer, and we’ll see you in the stars, Tenno.
