Wuchang: Fallen Feathers developer apologises for PC performance issues, promises fixes

Posted on July 29, 2025

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Leenzee Games’ latest soulslike action RPG, is a rather great time…if you’re playing on console. If you’re playing on PC, the experience is unfortunately marred by myriad performance and optimisation issues, at least so the game’s “Mixed” review average on Steam at time of writing would seem to indicate. The game’s developer has ackowledged negative criticism regarding the game’s PC version and has promised fixes to improve the experience.

In a post on Steam, the developers apologise for the state that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has released in on Steam. The team requests “continued patience and understanding” regarding the game’s launch issues. The developers also acknowledge that many players who were entitled to in-game preorder bonuses have had difficulty redeeming or accessing their rewards. In response, Leenzee Games has promised to provide additional rewards to owners of the Steam Deluxe version of the game, as well as improve the quality of its embattled PC version.

For owners of the Steam Deluxe edition of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, in addition to the single costume as compensation, players will receive 3 extra sets of Deluxe costumes as well as 4 weapons. Owners of either the standard or deluxe versions of the game will receive 3 additional pieces of in-game headgear across all platforms.

Regarding the complaints about Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ optimisation, Leenzee Games promises to “continue to optimize performance issues” and respond to player feedback. Particularly in regards to the PC version of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, the developers have committed to addressing crashes on different devices, improving frame rates and reducing lag on certain graphics cards and optimising the default settings for some graphics cards. A full list of the bug and performance fixes that Leenzee Games is working on can be found in its post on Steam.

It’s a shame that an engaging game like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has received such a poorly-received PC version. Leenzee Games ends its post by stating that “We ask for your patience as we tackle these optimizations step by step. We hope that one day, both our work and our team will prove worthy of your expectations.
