Hell is Us, the upcoming third-person action game developed by Rogue Factor with a heavy helping of weirdness, is relaunching a demo before the game’s full release early next month. Previously only available on PC in June 2025, this new demo will also be available on console this time.
As promised in the social media post, this demo will provide improved performance compared to the previous release. The Hell is Us demo is now set to run at 60FPS with 4K resolution. Initial impressions of the gameplay gave off soulslike vibes. However, according to the game’s director, it would be more accurate to describe the gameplay as closer to an old-school hack-and-slash.

With this in mind, with Hell is Us reportedly avoiding holding the player’s hand as much as possible, I can see this being potentially not for everyone. However, relaunching the demo is a massive sign of confidence from the studio and publisher.
Either way, the combination of the retro science fiction setting, mystery, and those visuals has firmly piqued my interest. So personally, I’ll be downloading the Hell is Us demo when it launches on August 12th for PC, Xbox Series consoles, and PS5 ahead of its full release on the 4th of September.
