Card Game Special

Listen to the show!

On this special podcast exclusive episode of Checkpoint, Meags, Luke, Tom and Archer talk about something that they are a little bit divided on… Card Games! There’s no denying that Magic: The Gathering is a phenomenon, so we talk about what makes the game so popular, what makes trading card games so popular in the first place and talk in detail about the tournaments, the events, the hype… all of it! Meags recently was lucky enough to go to the Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix here in Melbourne thanks to Double Jump Communications, so being a fangirl of card games, she has a lot to say on the subject. On top of that, we have two interviews during this podcast! The first, Helene Bergeot, is the Director of Organized Play at Wizards of the Coast, who knows a little something about running these sorts of events! The second is Marie Poole, the Chief Executive Officer of Lone Shark Games, who have created some great card games and experiences in their own right. Card game geeks UNITE, this podcast is for you! And if you don’t understand the appeal of card games, you might even learn a thing or two.
