The Hype Machine

Posted on June 29, 2016

Listen to the show!

This week on the show, we talk about all things HYPE! With the dust now settling after E3, we talk about hype as a concept, and what it does in the video games industry. It can be a great tool to get people excited about video games that are coming in the future, but also with tricky marketing, over-enthusiastic journalists and carefully crafted trailers, sometimes the end product is not always what you would expect. Luke, Archer, Tom, Meags and newcomer Ruby discuss this at length. Also on this episode, Tom spends time with his spirit animal with his review of Kirby: Planet Robobot, while Archer solves a mystery with his verdict on Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. We also talk about a world where the Xbox may have never existed! It’s all here on your favourite video game show!
