Open Worlds

Listen to the show!

This week, with such big releases coming out from the genre, we thought it would be the perfect time to talk about Open World video games. In a genre that usually lets you do whatever you want, whenever you want… is this always the most effective type of structure? How are they different than linear games? Are they better or worse? Is it a trend that is overdone in video games? Luke, Rachel, Jakob and Elliot discuss this at length, including talking about some of their favourites. Also on this episode, some big reviews coming at you! Archer has been hunting robot dinosaurs in Horizon Zero Dawn, Luke gets his squad together to bring you the verdict on Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Elliot plays a game of a different kind with Torment: Tides of Numenera! Don’t miss any of the fun in another jam-packed episode!
