Narrative and Storytelling

Posted on April 17, 2017

Listen to the show!

This week on the show, Archer and Elliot are joined by special guest Zhia Zariko, Graduate Games Researcher with a real focus on narrative and storytelling in video games. We all love our video games, of course, but what different types of storytelling devices are used, and what are the most effective ones? Everybody has a video game plot that really resonates with them, and many different titles have all kinds of ways to create story in different ways thanks to the unique platform. The gang talk about their favourites and the types of narratives that really work well, and those that don’t! Also, Luke has been waiting 10 years for Persona 5 to be released and he has his final verdict ready for your ears! Fin has been spending time with Vikings: Wolves of Midgard too, plus the news of the week as always, including big Nintendo Direct news! Don’t miss a beat on your favourite video game show!
