Next up… remember when Luke and Archer were discussing the right ways and the wrong ways to represent religion in video games? “This week on the show, Luke, Meags and Archer are joined by Tal from The Spirit Lounge to talk about a very interesting topic: the use of religion in video games. There are many points about religion that are raised in gaming; some games use it as a ‘big enemy’ that needs to be dealt with like in Assassins Creed, usually with a psychopathic cult-driven leader. Other games use it as a deep theme to represent a totally different world, such as with Bioshock: Infinite. Then there are other games that just have a bunch of deities FIGHTING IT OUT IN AN EPIC BATTLE… like in SMITE.” “Listen in as we talk about whether or not we think religion has a place in gaming, where it has been done with thought and where it has been done with perhaps not so much thought”
