Checkpoint Intimates: The Modding Conversation

Listen to the show!

Checkpoint Intimates is a weekly podcast where two members of the team go one-on-one on a topic that they both feel strongly about, talking in a more deeper and, yes, intimate context. On this episode, Elliot and Rachel talk about modding in video games! Modding is when gamers modify existing video games on PC to change them in some way, whether it’s creating characters, changing weapons, outfits and all sorts of things… your imagination is really the limit! They discuss some of their favourite mods in video games, the video games that have limitations on modding and the benefits of developers who leave games open and available to mod. Some developers even have incorporated modding into their games, such as Bethesda, and there are some questionable tactics about how people mod and how they are monetized for the public as well. Do you like mods? Do you make your own or just play others?
