Game of the Year 2017

Posted on December 20, 2017

Listen to the show!

This week on the show, it’s our Top 10 Countdown for our Game of the Year 2017! There have been some truly fantastic video games to come out this year, with big action-packed AAA releases knocking it out of the park, brand new IP’s consistently kicking goals and much-loved franchises receiving much needed reboots and revamps, it really was difficult to figure out which titles would come out on top. Not to mention the amazing indie titles that were released this year from small but super talented development teams… there’s just so many choices! We had the entire Checkpoint team of 14 writers and presenters put their nominations in… from there, we were left with 10, and the votes were cast to figure out which would reign supreme. Tune in to hear our countdown from #10 all the way to #1, with Luke, Elliot, Cam, Sav, Kieren and Rachel all along for the ride, talking about why they voted for these games and why you should absolutely play them all!  Plus the big gaming news of the week, including fresh information out of PSX, of course!

Kieren Munn

A typical gaymer, I enjoy most RPG's, Platformers, and Fighting games. I started gaming early with Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat and Alex the Kidd on my Sega Mega Drive. This started a "healthy" obsession that has spanned 5 generations of consoles, and I won't be stopping anytime soon.
