Listen to the show!
Checkpoint Intimates is a weekly podcast where two members of the team go one-on-one on a topic that they both feel strongly about, talking in a more deeper and, yes, intimate context.
In this episode, Elliot and Rachel are on board to talk all about split-screen gaming… or specifically, whether or not split-screen gaming still has a place in today’s gaming landscape! It used to be the only way multiplayer was possible, but now with so many games having serious online multiplayer components, it’s becoming less and less relevant… or is it?
They talk about the death of splitscreen as online takes over and their fondest memories with split-screen. They also talk about issues with the gameplay style such as screen cheating and ways to solve that issue. Some games are still developed with split-screen as a mandatory inclusion, including the new release A Way Out. Plus, some party games have found a solution to local multiplayer that don’t include split screen but still work great.
