This week on the show, we’re here to talk about licensed music in video games! Gaming is so diverse, and with that comes a very diverse soundtrack, with some songs standing out as truly memorable in video game history. While we do love an original soundtrack and there are some fantastic composers out there, clever use of existing licensed music can really make the difference in all kinds of genres. Join Cam, Elliot, Rachel and Kieren as they talk about the difference between licensed music and original soundtracks along with the effect these songs can have on the game and the player as well. We talk about specific genres that lend themselves well to licensed tracks such as racing, sports and more, plus the rhythm music genre that has really opened up the floodgates for artists of all kinds having their music featured in this world.
