Checkpoint Intimates is a weekly podcast where two members of the team go one-on-one on a topic that they both feel strongly about, talking in a more deeper and, yes, intimate context. This week, Elliot and Sam have to pick the right direction to take when looking at the interactive choose your own adventure Netflix special, Bandersnatch. Moving beyond the world of standard cinema the modern cult hit Black Mirror brought us Bandersnatch, an interactive film that took your choices like a narrative game to create a unique experience for the viewer. However can we class this as a game? If we include walking simulators then surely we should include interactive films. The boys break down the arguments for and against and discuss whether this experiment worked or should never have left its first draft.
