Forecast for E3 2016

Posted on June 10, 2016

There’s a lot of hype every year for E3 announcements, especially in the weeks leading up to it and this year is no different.

Firstly there are the two next-gen console announcements with the ‘PlayStation 4 Neo’ and ‘Xbox One Scorpio’, both of which are rumored to have more powerful GPU’s than their predecessors and larger HDD’s to support larger games.  Kotaku has reported that the ‘Scorpio’ is “capable of supporting Oculus Rift  and that Microsoft is pursuing a partnership with Oculus”. It’s been reported on the ‘Neo’ saying that its upgraded GPU “would allow it to output a 4k video signal”. Even though nothing is confirmed yet this is pretty exciting for consoles, and they’re slowly but surely becoming powerful enough to compete with PC’s in the market.

Now, onto the games! And there are quite a few confirmed as appearing already.  Confirmed already are: Final Fantasy XV, Resident Evil 2 remake, The Legend of Zelda, Watch Dogs 2, Nioh, For Honor, Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Final Fantasy VII remake, Kingdom Hearts III, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mafia III, Titanfall 2, Batman: A Telltale Game Series, Dishonored 2, The Last Guardian, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Yooka Laylee will all be appearing at the 2016 show.

These titles are creating a lot of stir among their fandoms and when you add the number of yet unannounced titles to come, this is bound to keep gamer’s happy this year going into next.
