Originally slated for a December 2016 release, South Park: The Fractured But Whole was unfortunately pushed back to quarter 1 of 2017. News has today emerged out of Ubisoft that the comedic RPG will be receiving its second delay, now expected to arrive sometime during Ubisoft’s upcoming fiscal year, which runs from April 2017 through March 2018.
The news of the delay comes from a financial report out of Ubisoft which simply states “South Park: The Fractured But Whole: release scheduled for fiscal 2017-18”. With no further explanation, we must simply hold our breaths and hope for a release that is sooner rather than later.
The South Park franchise is beginning to build a reputation for delays with The Fractured But Whole’s predecessor, The Stick of Truth, also receiving multiple delays before its final release.
What this means for the current state of the game’s development is still unknown, but we can only hope the wait is worth it. For more information on South Park: The Fractured But Whole, check out our ‘Everything We Know‘ feature.
