With hype building for some new Sonic action, a new gameplay trailer has been revealed.
The fact that Sonic 2 was the first video game I ever played on my Sega Mega Drive meant that Sonic Mania was certainly going to be a must have game for me when it releases. The announcement trailer had me instantly gagging and when it was revealed that Knuckles would be included in the three player roster alongside Sonic and Tails I was sold – I need this game.
It’s been a while since any new info has been released but yesterday new gameplay footage of Knuckles in the Flying Battery Zone was shown and I was instantly transported back to my childhood.
The Flying Battery Zone for me was up the top as one of my all-time favourite zones and I am so pleased that the trailer confirms it’ll be included in this 25th Anniversary game. The trailer follows Knuckles blazing through the stage; dashing, gliding, and collecting as many rings as possible. Knuckles’ unique ability to climb up walls returns and is used to assail certain boundaries, which will certainly benefit players who use it properly.
Developed by Headcannon and PagodaWest Games and published by SEGA, Sonic Mania is slated for release in Q3 2017 and will be playable across all current generation consoles, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
