E3 2017: Dauntless actually looks pretty daunting

Posted on June 16, 2017

Dauntless, a new free to play cooperative action RPG by Phoenix Labs, was on display during E3 this past week showcasing their new trailer.

The game, which can be played online with up to four players, appears to be a western take on Monster Hunter, which is great news for gamers since Capcom recently announced that they currently have no plans to westernise Monster Hunter XX.

The trailer shows off  the world of Shattered Isles as well as the various inhabitants populating it. It also gives players a glimpse into the different type of behemoths they will be facing in the game. Focusing primarily on an owl-like behemoth, the animal appears to have a proficiency with ice and cold indicating that weapons with fire would likely be the most effective here.

For those of  you out there like me who can’t resist a good PC co-op RPG (especially one that fills that Monster Hunter side hole in your hearts) well we have some good news. You can head on over to the Dauntless website here as Founder’s Packs are currently available to those who wish to support the game and jump into Dauntless early. If you own any tier Founder’s Packs you will be getting a guaranteed access to their Closed Beta. Founder Tiers also give exclusive access to pre-Beta events which will be happening in the third quarter of 2017 with Open Beta following soon afterwards.

Dauntless will be releasing on PC sometime in 2017.
