Studio MDHR, the developers of Cuphead, have made a statement reaffirming their release plans for the game.
For years we have been teased with footage and trailers for the hand-drawn cooperative platformer and after many delays this year’s E3 finally gave us a release date. On September 29th the game will be available, but not for everyone. Launching on Xbox One and PC, Cuphead is set to remain an exclusive title.
The reaffirmation comes from the developers themselves who made the following statement:
“Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after),” they explained. “There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever).”
Considering the team behind the adorable game had to put their houses on a second mortgage to help fund it, the success of this title will directly determine if we see anything else from these creative minds any time soon.
