One of my favourite indie games, RiME, has just been announced for port to Nintendo Switch with a launch date of 17th of November for Australia.
A puzzle-filled adventure game, the beautiful and emotional game captured the hearts of many in its original release and looks like it will be a perfect match for the Switch. There was originally some concern about the slightly higher price for the Switch version due to manufacturing and distribution costs, but it was revealed that the physical release will include a copy of the stunning soundtrack when it eventually releases on the Nintendo console before the end of the year, which helps justify the price a bit at least.
“As big fans of Nintendo, we truly appreciate our fans’ patience as Tantalus and Tequila Works continue working on RiME on Nintendo Switch; we are all committed to making sure all players get the high-quality experience they deserve,” said Raúl Rubio Munárriz, CEO and creative director of Tequila Works. This special edition of the game will also include a digital download of the iconic soundtrack composed by David Garcia Diaz.
RiME hits the Nintendo Switch on 17th of November 2017. In the meantime, check out Luke’s review of the PS4 version.
