At Gamescom this week, it’s been revealed that Final Fantasy XV will be heading to yet another platform, and this one was unexpected… Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition.
Yes, you heard correctly, you’ll be able to take your favourite crew from last years epic RPG and play it anywhere on your smartphone. The art-style is of course very different, in a very cutesy style, but the trailer shows that the voice acting, characters and spirit of the original is definitely captured in the Pocket Edition, promising to feature the characters and the story of the console release, but with the freedom to play whenever and wherever you want.
The game will feature casual touch controls optimised for mobile devices, making it very easy to pick up and play. The story will be told across ten episodes, with all releasing later this year; in good news, the first episode will be available to download and play for free, so you can get a taste before you commit.
Final Fantasy XV is proving to be a mainstay and a key title for the franchise with the PC edition also launching soon. For more on Final Fantasy XV in all its forms, stay tuned to Checkpoint.
