Fortnite Battle Royale gets new 50v50 mode

For a limited time until December 17th, you can play a new team based 50v50 mode in the wildly popular Fortnite Battle Royale.

Tweaking the concept slightly, this new mode is “last team standing” instead. Epic Games were also proud to reveal that Fortnite has reached 30 million players across all platforms, with a peak concurrent count of a whopping 1.3 million players.

Taking the popular concept from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (which launches on Xbox One on Tuesday), Fortnite Battle Royale is usually everyone for themselves in an effort to be the last one standing, using weapons and supplies found on the battlefield to kill your opponents and build protective structures on the fly.
