A new Tomb Raider game is in the works

Fantastic news from Square Enix today! They are currently working on a new Tomb Raider game, the third in the second reboot trilogy and the sequel to Rise of the Tomb Raider!

Square Enix tweeted (via Tomb Raider’s official Twitter) that another Tomb Raider game is in development. The company promises that the journey to the new game begins with a major event in 2018. No further details, nor an official title, are known yet but more details are to come in the near future. Earlier this year, a potential title for the new project was leaked through an employee of Crystal Dynamics. Only time will tell if this is the official title for the new game.

What new features could the new Tomb Raider bring?

Tomb Raider is a long-standing action-adventure series, beginning with the original Tomb Raider in 1996. The series has created numerous games, two reboots, countless comics and two movies (with a third coming in 2018). Recently, the first issue of the Tomb Raider: Survivor’s Crusade comic series released, beginning the story arc between the second and third games. Additionally, the Blood Ties chapter for Rise of the Tomb Raider was recently made compatible with Steam VR through HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
