While Pokkén DX Tournament isn’t without a wide range of fighters to choose from already, I’m super excited to see Aegislash make his debut onto the game. A Kalos Dex debutante, and one of my favourite Pokémon to date, the Royal Sword Pokémon has a few moves in his arsenal that’ll make him a force to be reckoned with or a valuable ally. Don’t let the fact that he’s a Ghost type Pokémon lull you into a false sense of security, this opponent is swift and strikes with deadly accuracy!
Aegislash is a technical fighter who will be able to switch between Blade Form (offence) and Shield Form (defence), which will make predicting his movements a real challenge for those up against him. The trailer also briefly shows us his mobility and it’s nothing to sniff at, as he gracefully dodges and counters his opponents in one swift manoeuvre. On top of this, Aegislash looks to boast a mix of long and short range attacks, certainly giving him the advantage over other fighters who excel at just one range.
Aegislash became available for download and play, as of January 31st, from the Nintendo eShop and comes with two additional support characters, Mega Rayquaza and the fan favourite Mimikyu. He is part of a two phase Pokkén DX DLC release with Blastoise set to arrive on March 23, 2018 along with mythical support Pokémon Mew and Celebi. Are you as excited as we are to give this regal Pokémon a go? Let us know which other fighters you’d love to see in Pokkén DX.
