Sony have announced a limited edition God of War PS4 Pro bundle. It’s set to be released alongside the game’s launch on April 20th, and if you’re a fan of the originals, it’s been a long time coming.
To mark the return of the recently daddy-fied Kratos, head of Santa Monica Studio’s Shannon Studstill has based the new Leviathan Gray theme on his new axe. Not only is a section of the Leviathan axe itself depicted on the console, but the linked icons curving along the length actually refer to the in-game skill tree for the axe itself. Studstill notes there are also “runic gem slots on the handle that enable unique special abilities.”
If you’re lucky enough to own a 4K television then you’ll benefit from dynamic 4K resolution, but fear not HDTV plebs, you also win with increased image clarity due to built-in super-sampling of a higher resolution. If you’re not sure what that means, just know that this game is going to look very pretty.
The bundled limited edition console with game is available now for pre-order and will set you back upwards of $650, depending on where you prefer to get your goods.
God of War will release on April 20th, and to say that we’re excited is a bit of an understatement.
