1930s-inspired co-op shooter Strange Brigade launch date announced

Posted on April 28, 2018

What happens when you get a game like co-op horde shooter Orcs Must Die, and then combine it with a hearty helping of Indiana Jones and the Brendan Fraser Mummy trilogy? It seems that you get something like Rebellion’s Strange Brigade, which will be releasing for PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

Strange Brigade  is a co-op adventure game set in the 1930s where you and some friends play as a group of adventurers  in the exotic lands of Egypt. Unfortunately the evil Witch Queen Seteki has arisen, and commands an army of terrifying  mummies.  Together, players must combat Seteki’s forces, solve puzzles , avoid traps, and put Seteki back in her sarcophagus for good.

The game oozes the pulpy charm of old adventure serials, right down to the cheesy British narrator and self-aware tone.  Although the game has a co-op focus, it can be enjoyed by 1-4 players, with the computer taking over the other roles.

The game is available to preorder now, and people who buy it now will receive the Secret Service Weapons Pack for free, which contains a collection of useful weaponry to kill mummies with. A Collector’s Edition is also available, which will contain:

  • Strange Brigade boxed edition (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only)
    • Steelbook case
    • Secret Service Weapons Pack DLC
    • Airship model
    • 64-page art book
    • Exclusive suitcase design and sleeve

Strange Brigade will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and  PC on the 28th of August. Check out the preorder trailer below.
