The fighter roster for Street Fighter V is growing once again with the addition of Falke, a stylish staff wielding powerhouse, coming next week. She joins an already growing roster of fighters, with more on the way throughout Season 3. Check her out in action in the trailer below!
The trailer depicts Falke as a quick moving, spin-kicking force of destruction, utilising her staff to fire concentrated psycho blasts at her opponents. I tend to gravitate more toward speed than power, making Falke a very attractive new fighter for myself.
Capcom has the following to say about Falke’s history:
“She was heavily experimented on by Shadaloo and was forced to train day in, day out to achieve perfection. Falke has the unique ability to infuse Psycho Power into objects and release it through them, mainly through her staff, which she named Harmony. Years of harsh training went by, causing Falke to spiral deep into despair, wishing for it all to end. Finally, Ed came to her rescue and they both were able to escape Shadaloo. Now, the two have a sibling-like bond and are searching for others like them in need of help.”
Using Falke’s unique abilities
By holding down any punch button, Falke can charge up and store Psycho Power until the button is released in one of three different ways:
- Standing (Psycho Kugel) – Falke releases the Psycho Power through her staff like a shotgun
- Air (Psycho Feder) – Falke shoots a projectile at a diagonal angle downwards from the air
- Crouching (Psycho Kanonen) – Falke lays on the ground and shoots a projectile at the opponent’s feet. She can avoid projectiles while using Psycho Kanonen.
Some of Falke’s special moves only require either two punch or two kick buttons, much like Ed, so no special inputs are required! Pressing two punches will result in Psycho Schneide, which is her version of an uppercut. Pressing two kicks is Katapult, which sees Falke pole vaulting towards the opponent in a kick motion.
Falke is included as part of the Street Fighter V Season 3 Character Pass, or players can purchase her ala carte from the in-game store for either real money or the premium “fight money”. Other characters included in the character pass are Sakura & Blanka (already released), Cody, G, and Sagat.
Falke is unlocked on April 24th, 2018, and you can check out Luke’s review of Street Fighter V HERE.
