Valkyria Chronicles 4 reveals trailer and premium edition

Posted on May 25, 2018

SEGA’s upcoming Valkyria Chronicles 4 has just received a new trailer highlighting its main characters and plot, as well as news about  the special Memoirs From Battle Premium edition.

The new trailer introduces the heroes of the Gallian Militia Squad E, who will be the protagonists of Valkyria Chronicles 4.  It is led by Claude Wallace, whose home was razed by the evil Empire and who was driven to enlist with the Gallian militia. Joining him will be engineer and heavy weapons specialist Riley Miller, hotheaded shocktrooper Raz, sniper Kai Schulen and more. Although the game takes place during the same timeframe as 2009’s original Valkyria Chronicles, this game is set in a snow-covered region, which looks gorgeous in the game’s anime-meets-watercolour painting artstyle.

The announcement also includes information about the game’s  Memoirs From Battle Premium Edition, which contains a number of added bonuses. These include a 100-page artbook, designed after the notebook of the game’s protagonist Claude Wallace, featuring a wide selection of the beautiful watercolor-styled art from Valkyria Chronicles 4.  Also included will be a vinyl statue of the “Hafen” Tank, the main vehicle  used by Squad E; it doesn’t quite have the firepower of the tank in the game, but it sure looks cool!

Additionally, the Premium Edition includes a pair of DLC missions featuring characters of Squad 7, the cast of the original Valkyria Chronicles. The missions “A United Front with Squad 7” and “Edy’s Advance Ops” will let veteran players step back into the shoes of Welkin, Alicia, Isara, Rosie, Largo, and Edy across 4 new missions featuring new challenges and story content. Furthermore, completing those missions will unlock those characters, and Edy’s exclusive submachinegun, to be used in the main game.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set to come out for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year. Thankfully it’s already looking like an improvement over last years spin off,  Valkyria Revolutions.
