A new “survival simulation RPG” based in the Digimon universe is heading to all major platforms in 2019. The game is Digimon Survive and it’s being called a celebration of the anime’s long and prosperous lifespan. Releasing originally in March 2019, Digimon’s 20th anniversary is fast approaching, so what better way to celebrate than with a new game?
Check out the official reveal trailer below.
Whilst the trailer is brief we certainly get some snippets of tantalising information. Notably the game seems to be quite a departure from the previous game set in the Digimon world, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. Between you and me, it also has a much better name.
Digimon Survive is quite beautiful to look at, assuming the trailer is a good representation of the final product. We get some look at the narrative that will unfold and also a brief glimpse at what looks to be tactical, turn-based combat. Hopefully more information about this game is just around the corner because I know Digimon fans with be hungry for more. Digimon Survive is set to release in 2019 for PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
