Nintendo announces special edition Switch for Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

Nintendo has announced a limited edition Nintendo Switch bundles for the upcoming Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

Nintendo has gone all out with their first main Pokémon game for a home console. The bundle looks very nice indeed, with a special edition console plastered with silhouettes of the titular Pikachu and Eevee on the back, yellow and brown joy-cons to match their colours, and the charging dock both Pikachu and Eevee lounging around on it.

There are two bundles, one that includes Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! as the pack in, and one including Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! Unfortunately, these games are pre-installed and not a pack-in. So bad luck for those collectors out there.

Also included is the Poké Ball Plus controller, a cool little peripheral that adds quite a lot of extra functionality. On top of the obvious use case of throwing Poké Balls at your screen, hoping the included wrist strap doesn’t break this time, the controller also gives you feedback via vibration, plays sounds, and lights up in a variety of colours. How useful that will be is anyone’s guess. The controller can also be used with Pokémon GO, if you are so included to do so or to take your favourite Pokémon on a walk.

Whether this has any effect on the enclosed Pokémon has not been stated. But the coolest thing it comes with is the ability to capture Mew, with the Poké Ball Plus controller being the only way you can catch Mew in the game.

If this all sounds appealing to you, you can pre-order this package for a paltry $599.95 from your favourite electronics retailer, and will release along side the game on November 16th this year.
