Grab your bathers and arm cannons, because the Big Wet Update for A Robot Named Fight! has arrived. The tide has brought in some great new content, so let’s wade in and see what needs blasting.
For those who haven’t heard of this little gem, A Robot Named Fight! is an indie title that combines the classic gameplay of Super Metroid with roguelike elements, creating unique runs every playthrough that take you through futuristic buildings, caverns, and abandoned ruins in order to become strong enough to take on a fleshy eldritch abomination that threatens the planet. If you’re hyped for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, then you definitely ought to check this out.
The game has already received several updates in order to add additional areas, enemies, and items, but the Big Wet Update appears to be the biggest one yet by some margin. And it’s free!
So, what’s included here? For starters, we have the introduction of a brand new level that can be found on runs, known as the Coolant Sewers. Once unlocked, you’ll be able to navigate this watery terrain and encounter brand new enemies exclusive to it. On top of this, the way room generation is handled has now been improved to make them more enjoyable to navigate. And lastly, there’s a significant number of bug fixes, weapons and weapon synergies.
For the full patch notes, head on over to the update announcement on Steam, and also be sure to check out the developer’s Twitter page for the game.
There hasn’t been a better time to pick up A Robot Named Fight!, as the title is currently 40% off to celebrate the Big Wet Update. If what you’ve read has intrigued you, be sure to check out the game on Steam or the Nintendo eShop. I’m personally a big fan, so I definitely recommend checking it out. Just be sure to bring wet wipes, because this game can get messy!
