Well aren’t we on a roll? Just days after the news that the next Mortal Kombat is being filmed here in Australia, we get chosen for the soft launch of a new Pokémon title! The game is known as Pokémon Rumble Rush, and is currently available on the Android store. Let’s take a gander at this little adventure.
Pokémon Rumble Rush is simple and small, and that’s great!
This mobile title apparently started off back in 2017, under the name Poké Land. Very little was heard from it after it’s initial announcement, until earlier this week, when the game simply appeared without much warning.
Pokémon Rumble Rush is the latest game in the Rumble spinoff series, and sees the player exploring various locales in order to fight and capture Pokémon. The gameplay is very straight-forward, requiring taps in order to attack opponents while your Pokémon explores independently. The levels and Pokémon are cute and colourful, and the stages themselves are very brief, making the title good for quick visits.
We shall fight them on the beaches…
I’ve played about an hour of the game so far, so I’m not completely versed on everything the game has to offer. That being said, I’m enjoying what I’ve seen, and the ability to pet your mons on the main hub is a very nice touch. With any luck, this will turn out to be a fun little time-killer that doesn’t make too many reaches for your wallet.
Unfortunately, as of the time of writing the game is only available to Android users, though it’s likely that iOS users will see it arrive soon enough. Be sure to check out the game’s official store page if you’re interested; since the title is in soft-launch, now is the perfect time to give it a try and provide feedback on anything that needs changing.
And now I’m off to do some more research. By which I mean try to catch a Bulbasaur. Wish me luck!
