Crossfire X comes to Xbox in 2020

Posted on June 10, 2019

CrossFire X developed by the same minds behind the successful PC game is coming exclusively to Xbox One on Xbox Game Pass in 2020.

CrossFire released in Australia on PC back in 2013 as a free-to-play competitor to Counter Strike. During its playtests in the late 2000s, it quickly became the most played online game of all time with 660 million players. The powerful community behind this game are surely impressed by the new console announcement.

CrossFire X will be an exclusive Xbox One version of the game. Focusing on competitive play and a strong community, many fans on the Microsoft console will be jumping onto this as soon as possible.

Smilegate announced previously that CrossFire 2 and a HD remaster of the original are also in the works. There has been no update on these two projects as of Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 conference. However, it’s clear Smilegate is still working hard on the beloved IP. Besides that, CrossFire X is unknown to be a simple port of the remaster or a console version of the sequel. It may be something entirely different on its own, too.  Will it hold up to the standard of other action-shooter games announced at E3 in 2019? Time will tell…
