Fortnite Chapter 2’s second season has kicked off!

The second season of the revamped Fortnite Chapter 2 is among us and it’s taking us undercover!

This marks the first season since the popular battle royale game’s famous soft reboot back in October. Yes, that season that came just after the black hole. This time however, players will choose their allegiance between two spy agencies and build up their crew with the latest battle pass.

The battle pass trailer has so much going for it that it passes by lightning fast. We get a preview of some of the skins you can unlock, including Meowscles a certainly interesting buff human/cat hybrid, a suave man named Midas, and a shapeshifter(?) by the name of Maya. As mentioned earlier, you’ll choose your allegiance with a spy agency. This’ll see you working to earn skin variants for either of your agency boss heroes, Ghost or Shadow.

Also on offer is limited time ‘operations’. They’re infiltration tasks that’ll see you sneaking into the enemy’s territory, dealing with NPC henchmen and enemy agents, that’ll see you “changing the fate of the island forever.” Oh, and for added measure you can hide in cardboard boxes à la Metal Gear Solid. Interesting stuff. And yes, that trailer does end with Deadpool, implying an unlockable skin of the famous red merc.

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. As expected, it’ll feature new challenges to unlock some sweet skins and gear. Does this new undercover forray of the latest season tempt you at all?
