Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets first look in cinematic trailer

Posted on May 1, 2020

Earlier this week, in a very long and quite odd stream, we learnt the title of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed. Now confirmed to be titledĀ Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, we also just got our first glimpse of the Viking era based game. Keen fans got a stunning cinematic trailer for the game, just to see where their journey may take them. Boy, it sure was enticing.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla lets you become a legendary Viking raider

The trailer did a decent job at showcasing the different environments the game will take place in. Cold, freezing seas and lush green hills were aplenty. It was quite stunning. There are villages too, but they didn’t fare too well in the trailer, and were instead pillaged. It all ended with a grandiose battle across a big field, Vikings were taking upon a threat that looked to be the infamous Templar, a faction from games prior.

Our hero’s a blonde male warrior, with the typical nordic plait beard and goes by the name Eivor. More information on the game can be found on Ubisoft’s website. Customising gear and tattoos, as well as raids and drinking games look to all be on offer. Bizarrely, there’s no sight of her but there’s also an option to play as a female Eivor. You can breathe your sigh of relief. Our hero also had a crow ally by the name of the fabled Odin. The popular hidden blade weapon makes a return too. Cool stuff.

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is due for release in Holiday 2020. The trailer sported some very interesting Xbox Series X marketing support in there, potentially implying Microsoft is the main console to feature the game. However the game is expected to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Google Stadia, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Short of that, that’s all she wrote. Expect more news for the hotly anticipated game in the months to follow.
