Just in time for May 4th, Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has received a significant content update. The new patch includes a New Game+ mode, new cosmetic options, as well as a battle arena where Cal Kestis can test his skills. Some much-needed accessibility options have also been added into the game.
These new cosmetic options include a Sith Inquisitor outfit for Cal, along with a red lightsaber. Players can unlock the red lightsaber and Inquisitor uniform in New Journey + mode, which starts the game from the beginning with all of Cal’s previously unlocked cosmetics.
Aside from these new additions, the Star Wars Day update also brings new gameplay challenges: Meditation Training mode. These challenges pit Cal against specially designed waves of enemies. Furthermore, players can design their own challenges in the Battle Grid. These customisable challenges include custom difficulty modifiers and some unique enemy types. These challenges are easily accessible from any Meditation Point throughout the game. Completing Meditation Challenges will unlock new paint jobs for Cal’s droid companion BD-01.
Finally, the update brings some accessibility options based on feedback Respawn has received. These include text scaling options, and the ability to toggle quick time events. Players will also no longer need to hold a button for Cal to climb up walls. Not every gamer will need to take advantage of these, but for those who need larger text sizes or can’t button mash effectively, these new options will go a long way towards making Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order more accessible and enjoyable.
The update is free for anyone who already owns Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on PS4, Xbox One or PC. If you have already beaten the game and wanted a reason to dive back into the adventures of Cal Kestis and the crew of the Stinger Mantis, there is no better time than now.
