After long rumours and leaks, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timehas been officially revealed. As the fitting name suggests, this series return was long overdue. Barring the recent remakes of the original trilogy and Team Racing, this is the first mainline game since 2008.
This new series entry will take place some decades after third entry Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Neo Cortex, Dr N. Tropy and Uka Uka have finally escaped the distant planet they were stranded on. To escape, the evil team created a giant rip in space and time, creating multiverses. Now, the marsupial is returning to take on the threat, but he won’t be alone. His dear friend Coco Bandicoot is also along for the fight.
Going off the provided images and trailer the public now has their hands on, the game looks to be a serious romp. New powers come in the form of a suit which sees Crash swapping gravity and walking on ceilings. Aim to collect the eerily named Quantum Masks. Crash’s look is reworked. Wacky platforming returns, including levels that see you on a jet board on the water, and fleeing from an enemy towards the camera, both nods to earlier games. It’s all very exciting.
If you’re curious to see some gameplay in the works, hip hop artist and Crash aficionado Quavo will be revealing some footage on his socials. Otherwise, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time isn’t far off at all. It releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2nd. Exciting days to be a Crash Bandicoot fan!
