Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may be in development at Rocksteady

Get ready to get your supervillain on because Rocksteady may just be developing a Suicide Squad game!

The rumors started when Warner Brothers Montreal registered a number of new domain names last week. Rocksteady, the developers behind the successful Batman: Arkham games, are a subsidiary company of WB Montreal. The domains registered were GothamKnightsGame.com, SuicideSquadGame and the more descriptive, SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com.

The “GothamKnightsGame.com” domain may refer to the long teased, but never fully revealed, new Rocksteady Batman game. WB Montreal have tweeted a few hints which suggest the game may focus on the Court Of Owls, a collection of Gotham City’s wealthiest who just happen to also be in a criminal organisation. However, nothing has been confirmed by Rocksteady or WB Montreal.

Fans of the Arkham games have been wondering when Rocksteady will release a new Batman game. Their most recent release, Batman: Arkham Knight, was released in 2015. One of the game’s DLCs however may give fans an insight into what they may expect if the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in development.

The Batman: Arkham Knight – Harley Quinn Story Pack lets players play as Harley Quinn whose aim is to rescue Poison Ivy from the grips of Gotham’s finest. Its game play was pretty much identical to the base game with some Harley inspired substitutes, such as laughing gas instead of Batman’s smoke bombs. Most of the criticism came down to the shortness of the actual game, which only contained about 30 minutes of gameplay. However, watching the trailer above could show the direction Rocksteady may go for their Suicide Squad game.

More news about what Rocksteady is working on is likely to be announced at the DC FanDome event on the 22nd of August 2020. We will keep you updated in the meantime about any new announcements, so make sure to keep an eye on Checkpoint Gaming!
