PGA Tour 2K21 looks to continue 2K Games trend of high-quality sports games, with the play-by-play commentary team confirmed as Aussie Luke Elvy and Rich Beem.
A veteran broadcaster of almost 20 years, the Elvy has represented Australia proudly, mainly focused on golf in his stints with outlets including CBS Sports and FOX Sports. The American Beem is a three-time PGA TOUR winner, including a win in the 2002 PGA Championship, and currently serves as a Sky Sports television commentator and golf analyst.
In PGA Tour 2K21, Elvy and Beem will provide analysis and insights to anchor a broadcast-style presentation with “state-of-the-art graphics, dynamic cutscenes and a seamless replay system.” Along with celebrating your best shots, they’ll also be quick to flame you for your mistakes, which should do wonders to my golfing anxiety and give me flashbacks to my very own golf instructor when I was a kid, in the worst possible way.
In all seriousness, PGA Tour 2K21 is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most well-made golf video games in recent memory. With developers from the authentic The Golf Club games supported with a 2K-esque budget – and Australian voice Luke Elvy on the global gaming stage – we can’t wait to get our hands on it when it releases on August 21 for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch.
